In the 1920s, the Rev. F. G. Cabaniss, a Baptist pastor of the Greene County circuit, acted on his vision for planting a church in the little town of Stanardsville.  Others began to share his vision and soon the church was built.  Stanardsville Baptist Church was dedicated in November 1928.  

A rich heritage of faith and service has developed here through the ministries of the Pastors that God has sent to serve in this area.  Now, we are writing the new chapter of our history that will carry us by God's grace and providence into the 21st century.
